At Kinder Island we focus on understanding each child and the reasons behind behavior.
Teachers use patience and positive reinforcement, never punishment.
If ongoing challenges arise, we partner with parents to create a support plan.
A signed parent/guardian permission form is required for each activity or field trip.
Parents will be notified in advance of all details.
For the health and safety of all children:
Please keep your child home if they are ill.
Inform us if your child has a communicable illness (e.g., strep throat, pink eye, lice) so we can take preventative measures.
Children must be fully recovered before returning after a rash or infection.
If a child becomes ill during the day (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, yellowish skin/eyes, heavy cough, rapid breathing, or pink eye), parents will be asked to pick them up within one hour. Until then, the child will be cared for in a safe, separate area with a teacher.
In general, medication will not be given at preschool. Exceptions:
Emergencies – Trained staff may provide first aid or necessary medication with parental consent.
Essential medications – If a child requires medication during class hours, parents must sign a consent form and provide it in the original container. Teachers will administer according to labeled directions and record details (name, dosage, time, staff initials) on a medication log kept in the child’s file.
Kinder Island is a nut- and chocolate-free environment.
Children bring their own healthy snack/lunch from home.
For birthdays or special events, only store-bought, pre-packaged items with labeled ingredients are permitted to ensure safety.
Children must be fully potty trained before starting our program.
Parents must provide one month’s written notice (by the 1st day of the month) if withdrawing their child. With proper notice, the following month’s fee will be refunded. Without notice, one month’s fee will be forfeited.
